It’s already packed with GTX 950M with 4GB dedicated VRAM based on Maxwell Architecture (GM107 chip), that enough to play most games at medium quality

The GTX 950M is better around 85% than the Geforce 940M in 3Dmark 11, and some of the games such as The Witcher 3 it can perform smoothly with around ~37 fps @1366×768 (medium setting), Fallout 4 at ~41fps @1366×768 (medium setting), or Mirror’s Edge Catalyst at ~25.4 fps @1920×1080 high setting (you can check more here). Our Second Recommendation

Acer Aspire V5-591G-55PV

Acer-Aspire-V5-591G-55PV-best-laptop-under-700-dollar-2016-smThe Acer Aspire V5-591G specs is as good as the Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-571G-50VG except it has the best processor for this price range. This laptop packed with Core i5-6300HQ which is Quad Core. HQ prefix means it has Quad core processor while U prefix ( as in Acer Aspire V Nitro) has Dual Core processor. It perform better than core i5-5200U by some margin ( 5,764 vs 3,499 ) according to passmark

For the GPU, The Acer Aspire V5-591G also comes with GTX 950M but with lower 2 GB VRAM but there is not much difference in term of performance. So it can handle most of your favorite games at medium settings at 1366 x 768 resolution.

It also doesn’t have backlit keyboard, so for some the multimedia experience is not as enjoyable as the one with backlit.

For the storage, it only provide 256 GB SSD which is enough for store your games data but probably insufficient of stores other files. You must consider purchase an additional external 1 TB or even 2 TB storage to store your multimedia such as musics, movies, images etc. So for faster processor than the Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-571G-50VG, you’ll likely have to spend 100-200$ more on HDD addition.

The other specs is 8 GB DDR4 Memory, 15.6″ Full HD Screen, and Windows 10 Home.

The Other Good Consideration for this price range:

Acer Aspire E5-575G-76YK (Core i7 edition)

Acer Aspire E5-575G-76YK (Core i7 edition) Good Gaming laptop Under 700$

The Acer Aspire E5-575G-76YK also has better processor than Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-571G-50VG, the core i7-6500U which is outperform core i5 6200U but still weaker than i5 6300HQ ( 4324 vs 3,499 vs 5,764 ) especially for gaming. But, it is compromised by weaker GPU, which are GeForce 940MX with 2GB of dedicated DDR5 VRAM.

According to notebookcheck.net, Geforce 940MX is a mid-range GPU for laptop with DirectX 12 support (FL 11_0) that announced in Q1 2016 and newer version of GeForce 940M.

It is slightly better than GeForce 940M- such as higher clock speed  (1,122 vs 1,072 MHz), 20% better in 3DMark 11 (14,211 vs 11,920) and slighly better fps overall in tested games. For the complete comparison you can check it here. But be aware that this card is not anywhere near GeForce GTX 950M performance.

A 17.3″ option: Lenovo Z70 80FG00DAUS

Lenovo-Z70-80FG00DAUS-Good-Gaming-laptop-Under-700$If you prefer large screen more than CPU or GPU, then the
Lenovo Z70 80FG00DAUS  is a good choice for you. This laptop has
Intel Core i5-5200U 2.4 GHz Processor, 8 GB DDR3L SDRAM, 1 TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive, 8 GB Solid-State Drive; DVDRW, 17.3-Inch Screen.

This laptop packed with GeForce GT840M 2GB which is the weakest GPU from this list but not far from its refreshed version GeForce 940M. If compare to GeForce 940M, in some tests such as 3DMark11 GeForce 840M is slightly behind ( 2511 vs 2602 ). Some older games will still be able to run smoothly anyway, just don’t expect it for latest games.

This also already has SSD so it’s another good thing, but only 8GB of storage maybe just not enough for us as latest games usually takes space 10-30GB.
